Rare opportunity exists for a Mid level full-stack Developer to join our emerging business that focuses on building digital games and data driven products for the sports industry. Through the strength of our existing platforms and continued technical innovation we are seeking to grow our team to meet the requirements of our growing client base

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the technical lead with the management of distributed development team.
  • Assist with performance testing, improvement techniques and caching solutions required.
  • Work with the broader FanHub team in understanding optimal technical solutions for current and prospective clients.
  • Must be able to brainstorm and communicate technology ideas and issues with peers, IT, and management.
  • Investigation of issues and bug fixing.

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • A love of sports and a strong understanding of fantasy sports products.
  • Clean code and solutions focused approach to development.
  • The ability to work unusual hours given the nature of the sports industry that we serve.
  • Experience working with distributed development teams.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Expertise with modern web development using PHP, MySQL/Aurora, Backbone.js, AngularJS, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Git, MySQL, Unix required.  Experience in building custom PHP applications for high traffic websites a plus.
  • Experience building and integrating APIs and data feeds in real-time environments.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling with XML, JSON, YAML required.
  • Knowledge of OWASP 10 and the latest security vulnerabilities required.
  • Experience in Object Oriented PHP, Redis, Kohana is a plus.
  • Experience building APIs, web services with Jenkins and Continuous integration is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of performance testing, improvement techniques and caching solutions required.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with and influencing team members and business partners at all levels in a corporate environment required.
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills with great attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to brainstorm and communicate technology ideas and issues with peers, IT, and management.
  • Ability to investigate issues and bug fix.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Indicatively, the successful candidate will have at least 5+ years’ experience producing digital products and/or content
  • You love solving UX problems and have demonstrated experience with wireframing tools such as Balsamiq, Visio, Axure, UXPin or other
  • You have an aptitude for clearly capturing user requirements and documenting functionality using Confluence and JIRA
  • You have experience in Agile Project Management and a proven ability to manage a backlog of development work across multiple clients and projects
  • Ideally you also have a working knowledge of HTML and Photoshop
  • You have a demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, from designers to front end and back end developers as well as marketing and sales managers
  • Experience working with remote development teams and co-workers

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Indicatively, the successful candidate will have at least 5+ years’ experience
  • Have demonstrated experience with UI, including wireframing and prototyping software tools (Sketch, Invisionapp & Adobe Creative suite) 
  • You also enjoy solving UX problems
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps
  • You have an aptitude for clearly capturing user and client requirements and feeding these into the UI solution 
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Ideally you also have a working knowledge of HTML and CSS, but this is not essential

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the experience design and UX research component of FanHub projects, collaborate on the implementation of UI and ensure the vision is carried through to the end product.
  • Support FanHub Producers as the experience design advocate throughout the project lifecycle, by conducting research, subjecting designs to usability/user testing and/or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective
  • Lead ideation workshops and the creation of UX artifacts to help clients un-pack their vision, pain points and align this with customer centered design principles.
  • Be accountable for the quality and continuous improvement of experience design and UX Research at FanHub
  • Support FanHub’s Head of Product in devising and implementing the processes and systems required to support world class experience design at FanHub
  • Collaborate with the Product and Development teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Create UI designs and assets required for development
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders

DESIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Primarily you are digitally savvy, a quick learner and have a positive and enthusiastic approach to getting work done
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in the customer service / support field and has dealt with customer complaints on a day to day basis
  • Knowledge of Front End websites, iOS apps, Android Apps and the ability to test & audit these devices
  • Previous experience in launching websites or helping run company websites is a bonus
  • Strong understanding of Social Media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook
  • Previous experience with any of the following platforms will help but is not essential as training will be provided –  Google Analytics, New Relic, Google Drive, Zendesk, JIRA/Confluence & Slack
