FanHub operates the Official Fantasy Games for Australia’s two largest sporting codes, the Australian Football League (AFL) and the National Rugby League (NRL). These two sports account for approximately 80% of fantasy players in Australia and are effectively the Australian equivalents of the NFL and the NBA in terms of overall popularity.
Fan Hub was commissioned to build the official AFL & NRL Fantasy games on behalf of Telstra for the 2014 season and beyond. Telstra is Australia’s largest telecommunications company and the Official digital partner of both the NRL and the AFL.
Across our platform we have hundreds of thousands of users interacting with our games throughout the season on a weekly basis.
The entire product set was built by the FanHub team including technology, user experience, design and ongoing operations. We also work closely with Telstra and the sporting codes on marketing and continually improving the products to achieve the best possible commercial results.
As part of the product we power native apps for both Android and iOS. Our AFL product is also compatible with the Apple Watch.
A season long Salary Cap game where each AFL/NRL player is allocated a dollar value. Users must select a team of players that adheres to the nominated salary cap. Each week users are able to make a maximum of two trades by selecting a player from the player pool in order to tweak their team.
A Draft game where users partake in the live draft process in order to establish a team that they then manage for the remainder of the season. Users are able to make waiver requests in order to sign free agents as well as make team-to-team trades with other teams in their league.
A Match Day Game, which is essentially a free version of Daily Fantasy, however rather than selecting from a range of players over an entire day a user’s choice is confined to a single match. For example, a user may select their best Lineup consisting of players playing in the Melbourne Demons vs Sydney Swans match.
